Jonard expands its suite of fiber optic testing equipment with OTDR
Jonard Tools has expanded its suite of fiber optic testing equipment with the introduction of the Multi-Function OTDR (OTDR-1000).
The OTDR, also known as the Mini Pro OTDR, is the ideal hand-held device for evaluating FTTx (Fiber to the X-location) and accessing network construction and maintenance. This all-in-one device also helps identify breakpoints, measure cable length, and calculate relative optical power losses.
The OTDR features a 3.5-inch color LCD screen and includes 8 different functions for testing and evaluating fiber and network cables. The event map on this device provides a simplified view of each mapped event with loss values for each component.
“The small form locator and multi-use locators make this unit desirable for the technician who does FTTH and copper network installs and maintenance,” said Jonard Tools Senior Director of Engineering, Ed Scirbona.
